You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) at NAVY RESERVE REGION READINESSS AND MOBILIZATION COMMAND, SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will review and direct incoming unclassified correspondence to responsible Front Office Staff. You will review outgoing correspondence to ensure compliance with administrative guidelines and policy set forth by the Commander. You will arrange meetings and conferences and handles protocol for the same. You will provide reference and background materials to the Commander and Chief Staff Officer. You will process administrative matters coming into the Commander and Chief Staff Officer and their subordinated. You will type a variety of material from rough draft directly to final form. You will prepare and maintain the appointment calendars and official social calendars for the Commander and the Chief Staff Officer.

Requirements

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience assessing and directing incoming correspondence. Experience reviewing outgoing correspondence to ensure compliance with administrative guidelines and policy. Experience drafting routine correspondence concerning acknowledgements, endorsements, etc. Experience preparing and maintaining appointment calendars and official social calendars. Experience arranging meetings and conferences and handling protocol for same. Experience in the use of word processing software and equipment to put in either draft or final form, a wide variety of letters, report, tabulated data, memoranda, directives, messages. TYPING REQUIREMENT: You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
