This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - JOINT FORCES HEADQUARTERS - DODIN .
Duties
Directs the development, modification, maintenance, and dissemination of Defensive Cyber Operation Internal Defensive Measures (DCO-IDM) policies and procedures.
Analyzes, interprets, and evaluates the potential impact of draft or new policies for current security implementations.
Studies and analyzes deliberate plans, programs, and processes involving Cyberspace Defense to include boundary, mid-tier, or endpoint security related vulnerabilities, and risks.
Provides written reviews and briefs to Command leadership focusing on overall vulnerabilities, impacts, mitigations, and options regarding DODIN operations.
Develops analytics and metrics to address challenges and measure capability effectiveness.
Provides evaluations and recommendations for new technologies to support ongoing security priorities.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Top Secret/ SCI security clearance required.
- This is a Drug Tested position.
- This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.

Qualifying Experience:To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in Cyber Defense Operations which include performing cyber defense trend analysis and reporting, performing security reviews, identify security gaps, make recommendations for risk mitigation, and conduction research, analysis, and correlation utilizing various data sets.

Education
