About the Position: The incumbent of this position will deliver and pickup linen, as well as perform inventory control functions.
The work schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday from 0700-1530 excluding holidays
Duties
Operate a van or truck with a carrying capacity of up to three tons with four-wheel drive and hydraulic lift to transport to materials.
Load soiled items into carts for weighing and transporting laundry.
Ensure proper loading and unloading of vehicles.
Examine and identify laundry items for sorting.
Examine trip tickets for completion in accordance with regulation.
Safely drive on public roads in accordance with state and local rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle and successfully pass an approved defensive driving certification course and to drive safely. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
- This position requires Hepatitis B immunization and immunization screening.
- This position requires a pre-employment medical clearance examination, including the wearing of self-contained breathing apparatus, to determine their suitability for this position.
- This position requires the incumbent to lift over 50 pounds on occasion and requires full use of all limbs, joints, muscles, vision, hearing, etc.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Motor Vehicle Operator ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex Motor Vehicle Operator duties. I am skilled in 1) operating a vehicle with a carrying capacity of up to three tons with four wheel drive and hydraulic lift; 2) loading and unloading of vehicles by use of hand equipment or by hand; 3) assure that cargo is properly loaded and secured; 4) perform operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires; 5) maintain all operational records on assigned vehicle- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Drivers at this grade level exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. They exert moderate physical effort in the frequent handling of objects weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds), and the occasional handling of heavier objects while loading cargo, with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment. Moderate physical effort may be required in making couplings between the vehicle and towed equipment because safety chains, towbars, and hooks must be lifted and properly secured. Considerable physical effort may be required to change tires and make limited emergency repairs, such as installing an emergency fan belt or replacing an electrical fuse on open highways.
Working Conditions: Drivers work mostly outside and operate vehicles in all kinds of weather in a controlled traffic environment throughout a government installation or establishment. Drivers are exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle. Drivers operate vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads (or the equivalent) and are exposed to the danger of serious accidents. They drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems.
