About the Position: The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), a subordinate research laboratory under the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command, is the lead medical biological defense research laboratory for the DOD Chemical Biological Defense Program. Duties

Develops informational materials that inform the public of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) programs, services and activities. Receives and interprets queries from the public and the media. Develop strategic communication plans for an organization. Prepare accurate and understandable responses using appropriate format and established time frames. Coordinates and assists in production of approved printed and digital graphic products for publications, presentations, and exhibits. Articulate assignments and deadlines for projects completing to subordinates to ensure successful result. Trains personnel in the delivery of marketing presentations. Mentors and teaches staff on public affairs standards and policies. Plans events and executes large scale, high visibility events.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

USAMRIID is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-04 payband is equivalent to the GS-13 step 1 to GS-14 step 10 level. In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, will not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system.
