You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the Hazardous Material Management Division of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR YOKOSUKA.

Duties

You will coordinate inventory management requirements for supplies and equipment and perform inventory for hazardous materials stored in a warehouse. You will inventory hazardous material stored onboard a ship and manage the balance of inventory storage (e.g., location, quantity) by viewing nodes throughout the supply chain. You will coordinate actions with production or other supply personnel to obtain material status information or expedite deliveries and prepare reports to inform management of supply inventory or supply orders. You will advise personnel on supply transaction submissions and collaborate with personnel to prepare inventory procedures. You will process command requests (e.g., property requests, temporary loan of equipment requests) to provide supplies

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to complete the Afloat HAZMAT Coordinator, HMC and M Technician, and CHRIMP/HICS Technician courses within six months of employment.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain/maintain proper licensing such as Forklift license, drivers license and/or government operator permit as determined by employing command with the possibility of HAZMAT certification to transport hazardous material.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating experience in providing assistance to home ported and transiting ships and submarines in executing elements of Hazardous Material Control.
