This position is located in the Office of the Bureau Chief, Enforcement Bureau (EB), Federal Communications Commission in Washington, DC.Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Duties
As a Pathways Intern, must be able to function in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent will collaborate on assignments requiring knowledge of principles, theories, and methods of advanced mathematics, statistics, logic, econometrics, and other techniques and procedures of operations research, with a substantial competence in data analytics.

Qualifications
A degree seeking student in the field of Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
Enrolled in a school that has been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Enrolled at least half-time as defined by your school.
Be in good academic standing (i.e., must have at least a 3.0 GPA or its equivalent).
Students must provide a Cover Letter describing their interest in the position.
Students must provide references.
Students must provide a writing sample related to math, statistics or data science.
US Citizen or if you are not a citizen you must meet one the following criteria: 1. owe permanent allegiance to the United States (for example, natives of American Samoa and Swains Island); 2. be a lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)(B); or 3. be admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157 or have been granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. 1158 and have filed a declaration of intention to become lawful permanent resident and then citizen when eligible.
Current federal employees must submit SF-50.
GS-5: Completion of 4 academic semesters of post-high school coursework, leading to a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree. Eligible candidates may be in the process of completing their 4th semester at the time of application. Must be actively enrolled in a degree seeking program related to Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
GS-7: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education; or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor’s degree. Eligible candidates may be in the process of completing their first academic year of graduate school at the time of application. Must be actively enrolled in a degree seeking program related to Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
GS-9: Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education, or a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree. . Eligible candidates may be in the process of completing their second academic year of graduate school at the time of application. Must be actively enrolled in a degree seeking program related to Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
Education requirements must be met prior to appointment. Updated transcript is required to verify requirements have been met.
