THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1202000 and is part of the CO CSMS 07, National Guard.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform calibration, diagnostics repair, and certification of electronic, mechanical, and radiation Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
Duties
Serves as a Small Shop Chief performing all of the following tasks: Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s). Possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment, and material requirements. Devises and maintains program plans and records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques, and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed without benefit of technical supervisory guidance. Plans, organizes, and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. Determines approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. May provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc. Performs the same type and level of work as performed within the unit. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Temporary promotion may become permanent without further competition.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Must be a current Permanent Dual Status Federal Technician with the Colorado Army National Guard.
- Must hold the grade of E-7 or E-8.
- Submit all required documentation.
- Must have 2 or more years of experience as an Electronics Measurement Equipment Mechanic at the CSMS, Colorado.
- Must be certified in Phase 1, Calibration Course, through the Sustainment Training Center, Camp Dodge, Iowa.

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience with basic application of operating principles such as the production and utilization of oscillations over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplification; pulse, trigger, and synchronization techniques; digital/analog processing and data conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indication methods.
2. Experience in tracing signals and voltage paths, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, duration, frequency, and phasing.
3. Experience in interpreting and applying a variety of technical electronic information such as schematic symbols, mathematical expressions and formulas, calibration procedures, and other reference materials.
4. Experience in applying established techniques and methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibration of equipment, which serves as test equipment or precision measurement standards.
5. Experience in utilizing electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
