About the position:This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation facility on Minot AFB.
This is a Flexible (Flex) Position (0 - 40 per week), there are no guaranteed hours.
Flexible employees are eligible to use the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, clubs, and swimming pool.
Duties
This position requires the applicant to observe swimming areas to ensure the safety of patrons. You may be required to rescue swimmers in trouble and provide lifesaving techniques to include administering first aid and call for medical assistance when required. This position may also require cleaning of pool areas to ensure the overall safety of patrons.
May operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards. Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting. May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the summing area to include: cleaning of the bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas etc.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification if lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
