This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Direct Hire Auth 5 U.S.C. § 9905, 6/23/2023 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will work under the general supervision of the Operations Manager for Channels and Harbors Project, Chief of Navigation Branch who provides broad general direction regarding the objectives and results desired.
You will be directly responsible for all technical, professional, and administrative functions of the U.S. Moorings facility and the maintenance of the various floating plant facilities within the Channels and Harbors Project.
The work requires exercising expert professional and administrative knowledge and ability in accomplishing Facilities Management within the framework of general policies and operational directives from higher authorities.
You will collaborates with chiefs of other Sections within the Channels and Harbors Project to negotiate, decide on, and coordinate work-related changes affecting the maintenance of the nation's waterways.

Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience overseeing plant maintenance facilities associated with the maintenance and repair of large sea going vessels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
