You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER SUPERVISOR in the PUBLIC WORKS of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Duties

You will serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over four or more subordinate warehouse operation workers. You will be responsible for supervising Material Handlers and Motor Vehicle Operators. You will be responsible for assigning and explaining work requirements and sequences to subordinates and sets deadlines for assignment completion. You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing work accomplishments and outcomes, to evaluate cost, and utilization of personnel and assets. You will be responsible for executing some administrative aspects of supervision of subordinate employees.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Navy Material Handling Equipment license up to the capacity of the forklifts used by those in the operation.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including rotating shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, holidays and/or be "called back" to meet mission requirements.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including 1) Supervise and assure efficient, effective, timely, and accomplishment of work requirements and responsibilities. 2) Knowledge of receipt, issue, storage, expedition, delivery, pick-up, disposal, and reutilization of material. 3) Safely operating industrial equipment, material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts), and motor vehicles. 4) Researching problem documents. I work under close supervision who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
