You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the RANGE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.

Duties

You will serve as the Deputy Department Head developing innovative strategies to provide optimal support to NSWC Corona Division and the warfighter, actively supporting Command strategic initiatives and promoting corporate thinking. You will ensure the department's mission aligns with governing laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, and fosters effective customer service through interactions with service organizations. You will coordinate and lead senior-level meetings across the Command, overseeing the Department's preparation for inspections, including drumbeat meetings, and providing reports on the resolution of open Department tasks or inspection findings. You will collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish and monitor key metrics and promote higher headquarters initiatives. You will assist the Department Head in preparing for and conducting briefings, meetings, events, and visits at the Warfare Center and higher headquarters. You will contribute to cross-departmental initiatives and strategic planning.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Engineer managing systems engineering projects and teams to develop strategic plans, oversee acquisition processes, and lead the development and implementation of range systems for a warfare program. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
