McCoy's Community Center is the central hub of activity at Fort McCoy. This large facility includes Dining Operations, Sports Bar, Bowling Center, Recreation and Leisure Activities and Conference and Catering Spaces. The McCoy's Community Center Team provides high-quality service and a place to unwind for the Fort McCoy Community.
Duties
Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing. Prepare concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies. Make cold sandwich fillings. Set up and replenish salad bar.
Prepares food, weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items. Mix ingredients according to written recipes. Cover, date and store leftovers according to established procedures.
Operates a variety of kitchen equipment. Disassembles, cleans and assembles component parts and accessories. Prepares and cooks food using a flat top grill, a fryer, and also prepares pizzas.
Follows safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment.
Cleans, stores and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use. Cleans other work areas and equipment on an established cleaning schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of 4 hour initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
- Uniforms and name tags are provided and required.
- Must be 18 years of age by appointment date to meet state requirements.
- Shift will vary based on mission but could include days, nights, weekends and occasional holiday are required.
- Drivers license will be required to drive government vehicles to catering sites.
Qualifications
Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume.
Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.
Highly Preferred Criteria: (All answers to the Highly Preferred criteria must be visible in your resume to get credit).
Possess one year of cooking experience in a restaurant, mess hall, or similar setting.
Possess a Serv-Safe Certificate.
