Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-09 level, you must have one of the following: 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level defined as advising stakeholders on the submission of annual budget request; monitoring budgetary obligations and expenditures identifying and preparing reports on differences between spending and projected estimates. master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; the education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position equivalent combination of education and experience To qualify for the GS-11 level, you must have one of the following: 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level defined as interpreting and advising stakeholders on budgetary/financial policies, guidelines, and/or directives; defining budget requirements for formulation; analyzing and preparing reports on annual funding needs for future budget years. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related; the education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position equivalent combination of education and experience. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:  -Knowledge of standard budgeting principles, practices, and methods. -Ability to complete assignments in support of formulation, execution, or review of a budget. -Ability to obtain, compile, and summarize narrative information and quantitative data. -Skill in written communication. -Skill in oral communication sufficient to provide technical advice on an organization’s budget. -Knowledge of budget practices, procedures, regulations, precedents, policies, and guidelines.
