About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Agency, at the Army Medical Center William Beaumont, located at Fort Bliss, TX. This facility is a Joint Commission Accredited medical center so experience with credentialing standards or Joint Commission is preferred.

Duties

Execute procedures designed to safeguard or protect personnel, patients, property, and resources through the application of physical security measures. Coordinate with installation counterparts and technical and subject matter experts to assess for physical security vulnerabilities. Coordinate and schedule for surveys of mission essential vulnerable areas (MEVA), facilities and sites. Review blueprints, drawings of the facilities, construction/renovation areas and initial inspection of new or modified facilities for physical security requirements and advise, consult, or recommend changes. Responsible for implementing the procedures and managing the WBAMC key/lock control and accountability program.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
• Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
• Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Security Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
