Duties
Manages various cafés/canteens within the Morale Welfare Fund. Requisitions and rotates merchandize, maintains adequate stock levels, ensures proper display of retail items and price marketing. Responsible for ensuring sales and receipt procedures are followed; prepares budget and analyzes financial results, ensures the security of cash, merchandise and fixed assets. Approves the quality of all food received. Oversees meal planning, cooking and food preparation to ensure food items are prepared and cooked IAW established procedures and methods; and ensures customer satisfaction is maintained. Trains subordinate café/canteen workers to ensure economy, efficiency and effective working unit. Evaluates methods of operations and coordinates changes to procedures when necessary to promote more efficient service.
Ensures courtesy and proper protocol is followed. Ensures strict compliance with sanitation, health, safety, fire and security regulations and instructions. On a monthly basis, keeps management informed of expenses, paid obligations, and outstanding obligations. Determines and plans for materials and equipment needed. Ensures bank deposits are made daily; conducts inventory as needed. Maintains files, and prepares required cash accountability reports and other documentation required. Maintains required sales records and accountable documents. Responsible for overseeing opening and closing activity, including the cleaning and sanitation IAW AFI and Public Health requirements. Supervises employees assigned; responsible for recruitment of staff; plans work schedules; approves leave; sets standards; evaluates performance and recommends award and/or disciplinary actions as needed.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience in coordinating and supervising the work of others at a technical level; experience in managing a large food service activity, to include planning and evaluation operating methods, cost control methods, inventory control, menus and pricing; and experience which provided knowledge of universal sanitation practices. Must have the ability to deal effectively with the public. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check (T1).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
