Duties
Obtains and schedule work and/or service request involving repairs, renovations, alterations and improvements, custodial services, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, lighting, snow removal, and grounds maintenance services.
Obtains and schedule work and/or service request moving and contracted laborer services; courier/mail stop services; and building security.
Develop administrative and/or operational plans and timetables with GSA, Director/Associate Director, managers, and employees on facility related projects.
Counsels and advises supervisors, managers, director and associate director on projects, designs, accessibility needs, and cost saving procedures.
Plans develops, and implements a basic safety and health programs covering accident prevention and control, safety education and promotion, ergonomic evaluations, and accident investigation analysis and reporting.
Provides technical advice and assistance to employees, management personnel, and safety board on safety- related matters, including compliance with laws, regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Experience with managing a safety program for a large organization and familiar with organizing fire drills and communicating with first responder staff. Experience with building environmental equipment such as Heating and Air Conditioning. Experience communicating issues found in facilities to the General Services Administration for attention and repair.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands:
Approximately half of the work is sedentary. The remainder is conducted throughout the National Operations Center (NOC) facilities, bending, stooping, and kneeling, climbing ladders, inspecting HVAC units on roofs, mechanical rooms, electric power rooms, building ventilation systems, elevators, and the associated grounds of each building in all types of weather.
Work Environment:
The work is performed throughout the NOC assigned facilities, in offices, warehouses, roofs, mechanical rooms, industrial shops, and parking lots in poor as well as good weather. Intermittent use of a Government vehicle is required. Some travel is required. Incumbent is on call 24 hours a day, and is required to respond to critical building system failures, accidents, and natural disasters affecting the facilities. Some overtime and/or weekend work is required.
