Duty location is Indianapolis. Position is not eligible for remote work or duty location of any other DFAS site.
Duties
Prepares and coordinates a variety of written communications and briefings for senior management.
Performs administrative and office services support in the areas of personnel, travel, timekeeping, purchasing, facilities management, forms and related services.
Initiates and tracks Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs). Coordinates actions with Manpower and management to ensure accurate submissions.
Tracks and maintains budget, supply and property records to prepare periodic status reports for management.

Qualifications
Basic Requirement: Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors. You may be asked to take a typing test to verify this requirement.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-06) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is defined as providing administrative, technical and general office support duties to an organization serving as a point of contact for internal and external customers to provide general and technical information about an organization; using computer software to prepare, edit and format general communications, reports, and briefings; providing administrative and technical support to travelers in an automated travel system; and using an automated time and attendance system to perform timekeeping administration functions for an organization.
GS-7 Time in Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Education
GS-7 Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
