Duties
As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Capital Markets), you will:
Identify and address areas of significant capital markets related risk in Midsize and Community Bank Supervision (MCBS) and lend high level of expertise to the examination of the most complex capital markets matters within MCBS.
Participate in macro studies of emerging capital markets trends, capital markets risk management systems, and other capital markets practices. Identify emerging issues in capital markets risk throughout MCBS and coordinates findings with other capital markets experts around the country.
Provide authoritative advice on capital markets matters to MCBS, subject matter experts and specialists and Washington senior subject matter managers.
Prioritize capital markets-related risks in MCBS and provide advice and suggestions to senior management on personnel that may be well suited to address the risks identified.
Provide leadership to examiners and be relied upon by other examiners throughout the country for advice on complex capital markets matters. Assist in developing the skills of capital markets specialists and in identifying developmental opportunities.
Probe the development of capital markets products and services and confer regularly with experts in other fields to discuss and debate practices and issues.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Leading exams or audits of a financial institution's activities to identify capital market risk and provide advice to management on risk mitigation; OR
Evaluating a financial institution's compliance with laws, regulations and guidance related to capital markets activities and recommending corrective action.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
