About the position: This position will be assigned to the Community Center of Ellsworth AFB.
Must work an uncommon tour of duty which includes nights, weekends, and Holidays.
This position is considered regular full time. You are guaranteed 35 hours, however you could work up to 40 hours per week.
As a regular employee you are eligible to earn leave and other NAF Benefits.
Duties
Plans, coordinates, implements, manage, supervise and administers all center programs and activities.
Provides a wide range of recreational, leisure, self-directed and services for DoD military, civilian, and dependent populations.
Services as the project officer and coordinator for base-wide events.
Has full supervisory responsibility for the Community Center and Base Theater personnel assigned to the flight.
Prepares appropriated and non-appropriated budgets and quarterly adjustments.
Insures the section meets established financial goals.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage.
Knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures in order to prepare, monitor variances, and revise budgets.
Experience using Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Bachelor's degree in recreational leadership, and recreation management, leisure studies or related field is highly desirable.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
