Duties

You will monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors engaged in maintenance, operation, installation, and modification of training devices. You will ensure that contract personnel are following training objectives specified in the various syllabi designated by the Fleet Replacement Squadron, Type Wing Weapons School, and fleet training officers. You will serve as a direct liaison with the Contracting Officer and COMS support personnel regarding contractual matters. You will justify, define, and resolve logistical problems with project engineers and Integrated Logistics Specialist managers as to requirements for parts, tools, test equipment, documentation, etc. You will provide technical expertise concerning the design, specifications, testing, and acceptance of new and modified training devices and oversee the operation, maintenance, and support. You will review monthly Utilization Reports in accordance with Contract Data Requirements Lists and Data Item Description instructions and requirements.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating technical specifications and requirements of electronic aircraft weapons systems simulators to identify or develop maintenance and operations improvements that ensure the availability of flight simulation devices. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

• Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
• Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements.
• Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements.
• Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders.
• Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
• Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
