Duties
As a Quality Assurance Specialist (QA), the role of this position is to provide on-site technical oversight in accordance with established procedures in support of surface ship design and construction programs.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-13, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience includes:
Interpreting contract requirements; covering policies and procedures of QA and Test Programs;
C4I, TEMPEST, and Navigation system installation, testing and system integration;
Investigative techniques and skill to develop, analyze, and evaluate reports relative to the quality of the QA and Test Programs
Conducting quality assurance ad quality control practices and leading process improvement activities;
Writing and preparing reports, developing presentations, and collecting data/information on quality issues for management on high level problem solving;
Conducting studies and problem analyses with developing logical and documented recommendations.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
