About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Duties

Execute risk management, cybersecurity, incident response, and contingency/continuity planning programs. Monitor organizational planning and policy formulation to ensure compliance with risk management principles and regulatory guidance by attending technical working groups and meetings and taking corrective action(s) when necessary. Monitor endpoint security, network infrastructure security, intrusion detection systems using Army-fielded systems daily and takes corrective action(s). Maintain training and certification for assigned monitoring systems and assigned role pursuant to Army Regulation 25-2 and ensures all employees are notified when certifications are needing to be renewed. Develop guidance and procedures for secure implementation of Command, Control Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) services Work with regional ISSMs to evaluate the impact of proposed changes to standards and procedures on the accomplishment of agency goals and objectives Serve as a Cybersecurity Team Lead. Ensures that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.

  • This position is designated as sensitive IT-II for Information Assurance purposes.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel (in the most expedient manner) away from the normal duty station up to 10%.

(3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information. (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
