Duties

Participate in planning, designing, and conducting comprehensive analytical studies of the OTE's programs to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations. Conduct scientific analytical studies related to the various cancer research training and career development programs and activities of the CCT. Analyze scientific, programmatic, and administrative data to identify trends and accomplishments and make projections. Participate in NCI-wide initiatives, and serve on committees, task forces, and working groups concerned with research and administrative operations, cancer training and education programs, policy development, and evaluations. Develop and implement courses, workshops, and training opportunities to prepare a cadre of highly skilled individuals to successfully support and advance the cancer research enterprise. Attracts, supports, and retains talent from diverse populations to create an intramural culture of inclusion.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirement: You must possess a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accredited body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Additional Qualifications: You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing scientific program planning and analysis functions to support postdoctoral training and career development programs; collecting reporting on data and issues pertaining to cancer training and career development programs; assisting in preparing analytical reports and other documents to communicate scientific and programmatic information; and serving on committees and workgroups to support scientific program operations and projects. You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: performing scientific program planning and analysis assignments to support postdoctoral training and career development programs; evaluating the effectiveness of scientific training and career development programs; analyzing and reporting on data and issues pertaining to cancer training and career development programs; preparing analytical reports and other documents to communicate scientific and programmatic information; and representing an organization on committees and workgroups to support program operations and projects.
