About the Position: Serves as the technical and administrative supervisor over the Operations and Maintenance, Interior Shop

Duties

Plans daily/weekly or monthly/project to project work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Directs employees within a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks in accordance with mission requirements Coordinates a variety of general maintenance related operations performed by work leaders, and journeyman level workers in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines. Responsible for the overall productivity, economy, and efficiency of maintenance operations within the organization. Makes visual and operational inspections of work accomplished to ensure facilities are maintained in an acceptable state of repair. Drives various vehicles to transport self, supplies, and other employees throughout the installation and on public roads. Responsibility over carpentry, sheet metal, wielding, sign fabrication/installation, asbestos and mold removal work operations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position is designated as essential during inclement weather.
• The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• The employee will be required to successfully pass physical examinations
• This position requires the incumbent to be able to utilize an alpha/numeric keyboard in conjunction with the utilization of automated information systems.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements
• A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. Performing task with an array of trades and craft, which includes the maintenance and repair of facilities and utilities. I can manage facilitate work operations utilizing administrative authority; planning work based on trade experience; determining equipment, supplies, and maintenance required by work leaders, and journeyman level workers. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. This position is established to serve as a supervisor over one of the QSI shops. These type duties will be covered by the WG-4700 work family for General Maintenance and Operations. These shops will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of buildings, roads, grounds, and related facilities such as heating and air-conditioning.
