This position is located in the Energy Plant of the Maintenance and Operations section for the Engineering Service of the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care System. The Air Conditioning Equipment Operator is a member of a Shop team responsible for the safe operation of the centrally located boiler and chiller plant.

Duties

Air Conditioning Equipment Operator -100% The work involved entails preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, overhaul, calibration, modification and repair of a variety of domestic, commercial, industrial and specialized heating and cooling equipment systems. Work Schedule: Rotating shifts (Nights, Days and Weekends) Position Description Title/PD#: Air Conditioning Equipment Operator/PD50288A Physical Requirements: This position requires walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling moderately heavy loads daily and occasionally heavy loads. Incumbent must be in good physical condition, have good eyesight with or without glasses and cannot be colorblind.

Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
