Qualifications
In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as experience in chemical monitoring methods or other relevant analytical methods; working with stakeholders on collecting and processing comments during a review/revision process; providing technical interpretation and/or guidance; and producing written materials related to technical data and/or information (e.g., briefings, background papers, PowerPoints).
Your application package will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of chemical monitoring methods and other relevant analytical methods.
Ability to provide technical advice and guidance on technical data/information to a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of principles, concepts, techniques, and practices in analytical method development.
Ability to analyze existing models for issues and provide recommendations for corrective action or improvement.
Skill in interfacing effectively with a variety of audiences.
Ability to persuade others and garner consensus on an issue with disparate perspectives.
Skill in written communication.
Skill in oral communication.

You need a degree or combination of education and experience as described below to qualify for this position.
Individual Occupational Requirements
Basic Requirements:

Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.

Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
