About the Position: This position serves as a consultant to the District Engineer and key staff on all public information and public relations matters.

Duties

Review and analyze District programs and policies for their relationship to public opinion. Advise the District Engineer and key staff elements of public affairs implications of events, programs and activities and of developing trends on controversial issues raised by the news media or public. Assist in determining and carrying out the objectives of the Omaha District information program. Serve as a spokesperson for the District to regional, national and international print and broadcast news media representatives on District's programs and activities. Aid, assist, or create and facilitate the production of all forms of public information products including multimedia presentations, print products, video products, social media posts, advertisements and public displays on a wide variety of subjects. Write public involvement and community relations plans for informing and involving the public on controversial issues of local and/or regional significance.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
