Environmental Management Services serves the healthcare needs of America's Veterans in North Florida/South Georgia by providing a wide array of medical services including specialized care and related medical and social support programs. In FY2016, North Florida/South Georgia VHS served over 130,000 unique Veterans with approximately 1.3 million visits, which made us the busiest facility. The complexity level of the facility is 1A and the largest system in VISN 8 consisting of two medical centers
Qualifications

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). Applicants who appear to meet the screen out element are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated from consideration. The potential eligibles are rated against the remainder of the job elements. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: No special above-average physical demands, (ability, dexterity, or strength) are required to perform the work. Work is divided between sedentary sitting and walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting. Incumbent will need to drive an automobile to conduct fieldwork. Fieldwork may involve traveling to offsite locations for interviews, meetings, and sources of information.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in Offices, Meeting/Conference Rooms, Labs, Exam Rooms, Waiting Rooms, Patient Wards, or similar settings. The work areas are adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, but may also include areas that are not, to perform inspections as needed .
