Duties
Works under the supervision of the activity manager who issues instructions on work sequences, procedures, methods, and deadlines, and relies on the incumbent to assure that work assignments are carried out by other members of the group.
Serves as working leader of 3 or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work.
Works along with other workers, setting the pace performing non-supervisory work of the same kind as that done by the group led.
Monitors preparation of menu items by lower grade cooks and reviews menus and standardized recipes to ensure food items are made correctly.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
- Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
- Required to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Work also involves continual standing and walking. Occasional lifting of over 40 pounds with assistance of lifting devices or other workers, if required.
- Must be available to work holiday, weekends and evening.
Qualifications
Work experience performing the duties described above.
Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume.
Highly Preferred:
Must possess one (1) year of demonstrated experience working as a kitchen lead, head chef or in a similar role.
Must possess one (1) year work experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge in understanding and following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Must possess one (1) year demonstrated work experience in inventory management to include ordering and cost control to meet budgetary guidelines.
