The Deputy Director of the Court Reporting Division (CRD) is responsible for managing the day-to-day work activities of the CRD.   The Deputy Director works closely with and serves as key advisor to the CRD Director in keeping abreast of the most up-to-date court reporting technology and the development and implementation of state of the art reporting services for the DC Courts.  

Duties

In the absence of the CRD Director, incumbent assumes the full responsibility of that position, to include the specific and delegated authority and latitude to make administrative and management decisions for the assigned branches and offices within prescribed parameters.

  • This position is an Excepted Service appointment.
  • Background and security investigation are required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public, business, judicial, or court administration/management; or a related field. Equivalent levels of experience may be substituted.  A minimum of six (6) years of management experience in business or a public service administration with at least three (3) years of experience as a senior level manager. Ability to bring about strategic change, to meet organizational goals, establish an organizational vision and to implement it in a continuously changing environment Ability to lead people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals; and to provide an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts.  Knowledge of pertinent laws pertaining to Court administration and operations The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts’ values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Respect, and Transparency. Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required.  If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
