About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) mission statement: To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter.

Duties

Prepares life cycle cost analysis/cost estimating studies. Reviews, analyzes, and interprets regulations, directives, and instructions relating to production/shipping/receiving and organizational cost analysis/cost estimating functions and special reporting requirements. Recommends local policy and procedural instructions for the collection of cost and related data from various sources within and external to the organization. Determines the need for specific types of cost analysis/cost estimating data required for assigned projects. Identifies, integrates, and synthesizes all aspects of the total system cost analysis/cost estimating program, including receipt and adaption of inputs from various related programs and functions within the organization. Reviews and analyzes cost information reported by Manufacturing and Engineering (ME) and Depot Operations (DO) Directorates with respect to production and operations and supporting aspects.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for practitioner certification in (A) Program Management within 60 months as of entrance on duty.

Basic Education Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Note: You must submit a copy of your transcript. In addition to the education requirement, to qualify your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) analyzing mission requirements to determine cost parameters; (2) developing cost estimates to support program management needs and (3) maintaining program office cost estimates to meet the organization mission.
