About the Position: This position is located at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center in Fort Meade, Maryland.
Duties
Prepare shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems.
Identify customer shortages and perform research prior to confirming in the automated inventory system.
Use an automated system to update locations and print placards as needed when new items arrive into the storage facility or when required to relocate.
Validate items received by purchase order number, catalog number, quantity, and unit of purchase.
Operate a forklift and government vehicles (up to 5 tons) to pick up supplies from prime vendors.
Load and unload supplies using forklifts, and manual and mechanized pallet jacks.
Responsible for the overall management and storage of medical gases, ensuring that they are separated and posted accordingly by type of gas, and whether empty or full.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- Must obtain and maintain a government driver's license to operate vehicles up to 5 tons.
- Maintains certifications to operate all government Material Handling equipment.
- Overtime may be required and will be subject to approval by the supervisor prior to completion of work.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler (Fork Lift Operator / Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform the full range of warehousing operations and function skilled in receiving, storing and issuing materials, supplies and equipment; operating mechanized equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc) and vehicles to transport materials and sufficiently skilled in materials handling equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical effort is required to turn larger and heavier vehicles and to operate additional controls. Warehousing requires standing and working on hard surfaces and in areas that involve stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Will regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds, and may lift items up to 70 pounds.
Working Conditions: Major portions of the work are performed outside in all weather and in an enclosed cab, and is subject to dust and fumes. While driving, there is constant exposure to traffic hazards. Requires standing, heavy lifting, and frequent bending and stooping. Due to physical layout of warehouse buildings, incumbent will move from place to place, working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather, and occasionally work in warehouses that are not heated or cooled. May experience cuts, scrapes or bruises. May occasionally be in situations where care must be taken against falling. Work involves movement and testing of medical gases. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Must adhere to all safety precautions, and wear personal protective gear such as safety glasses, ear protection, shoes, harnesses, reflective clothing, and masks.
