The incumbent serves on a regular and recurring basis as a Working Leader over a group of Grounds Employees, Gardener, and (CWT) compensated work therapy patients engaged in general Ground Maintenance activities. In addition, relays instructions from his / her immediate supervisor to other workers and assures that work operations are completed in a timely and effective manner, to be determined by the supervisor.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Operate gasoline and or diesel powered heavy equipment wheeled or crawler type traction such as front end loaders, backhoes, Aerial Lifts that exceed 130', dump trucks, forklifts, all wheel and skid steer Bobcat's including any associated attachments and or accessories.
Safely operate bull dozers, specialty tractors, rollers, ditching machines, scrapers, rubber tire tractors, and additional related construction and maintenance equipment.
Uses and maintains hand tools and other various types of smaller equipment.
Perform maintenance, such as daily inspections of the equipment being used.
Replenishing fluids to proper levels, lubricating grease fittings, adjusting tire pressures, removing foreign obstacles, and making necessary daily adjustments.
Keep daily routine maintenance logs and perform safety inspections on all equipment before operating.
Perform preventive maintenance and servicing of all equipment assigned.
Maintains records and documents of any deficiencies and reports them to the supervisor.
Must maintain a valid Florida Drivers license.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (subject to change based on the weather and needs of the facility).

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Heavy physical effort is required by the Incumbent as an Operator consistently reaching, bending, turning, use of hands, feet, arms, and legs to handle different sets of controls in order to operate the equipment and its attachments. Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration of the equipment. The incumbent may be required to work in awkward or strained positions that require more effort. The operator may have to leave the equipment several times in doing certain tasks that may require the operator to climb in and out more than usual. This position requires many hours on your feet walking, standing, leaning, climbing, sitting, bending, stretching, and kneeling, carrying, climbing ladders, holding, and placing. Incumbent shall be able to execute work duties in weather conditions and at temperatures usually experienced in this geographic area.
