About the Position: Compares Architect-Engineer (A-E) price proposals with government estimates, reviews A-E payment estimates, identifies and refers discrepancies to appropriate party. Assembles contract documentation and maintains status of all Engineering & Construction Division and Planning, Programs, and Project Management Division A-E contracts and task orders in progress for Task Force VIPR.

Duties

Reviews and checks payment estimates received from A-E firms for accuracy, completeness and reasonableness. If an error or other discrepancy is detected, contacts the appropriate technical representative(s) for resolution. Assembles contract documentation packages, ensuring proper sequencing of contractual events. Reviews scopes of work drafted by others to ensure all data, documentation and descriptions are sufficient, complete and in accordance with guidelines and requirements. Receives files containing basic contractual documents, correspondence, recommendations for award, price analysis reports, negotiation reports, government estimates, bids of unsuccessful offers, price inquiries, mailing lists, etc.

  • Business travel (TDY) is less than 10%.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical support and assistance in the management of Architect-Engineer (A-E) contracts for design, engineering, surveying and mapping, core drilling and testing, planning, project management, and other consultant services for an engineering organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementContracting/ProcurementOral CommunicationWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
