Duties
You will operate gasoline or diesel-powered heavy-duty equipment.
You will drive equipment to work site or transport required equipment via truck and trailer.
You will conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance of assigned equipment.
You will adjust various attachments, such as rollers, scarifiers, scoops, digging and loading bucket chains, grader blades and bulldozer blades.
You will work on all types of terrain including flat, rolling, or hilly terrain, and construction sites with difficult and simple terrain.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to maintain a current valid United States Class A Commercial driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current T (Trailer), P (Passenger), and X (Hazmat) endorsements to your Commercial Driver's license.
- This position is entitled to a remote site-offshore allowance up to $10.00 a day and may not to exceed $10.00 a day in addition to pay otherwise due to the employee. (See 5 U.S.C. 5942 and 5 C.F.R. 591 Subpart C).
- May be subject to rotational work assignments for extended periods to perform duties at various locations including but not limited to the wharfs and offshore islands.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and
maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety
shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be
rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

This position has a Selective Placement Factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must possess a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with T (Trailer), P (Passenger), and X (Hazmat) endorsements. A copy of your licenses must be attached to your recruitment documents to be considered for this position.

1) Operating gasoline or diesel-powered equipment on all types of terrain.
2) Performing minor maintenance and repair on equipment.
3) Reading and interpreting blueprints to perform work.
