Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Gulf of Mexico OCS Region, District Field Operations, Lafayette District, Lafayette, LA.. At the full performance level (GS-8) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Performs initial analysis and subsequently assists staff engineers in the overall evaluation and processing of incoming requests, and documents. 2. Conducts preliminary technical evaluation for completeness of all administrative requirements, and compliance with all regulations 3. Manages all databases (TIMS, TIMSWEB, NCIS, Access) for all applications, requests, reports, and notifications. 4. Runs e-Well database queries for newly submitted EORs and Well Activity Reports (WAR) and assigns to the appropriate staff. 5. Maintains the rig data located in TIMS National Consolidated Information System (NCIS). The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.. This position is included in a bargaining unit. The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Local 3457, is the exclusive representative of all employees in this bargaining unit. Salary Information GS-12 step 1 $54,292 - step 10 $70,578 per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. Physical Requirements: Occasional walking, bending, stooping, and climbing tall ladders during inspection of offshore oil and gas facilities. Helicopter, marine vessel, and automobile travel is required. As defined by the BSEE medical standards program, you will be required to pass a pre-employment medical examination as a condition of employment. Work Environment: Scheduled and unscheduled offshore overnight stays, as well as weekend duty assignments may be required by this position. Weekend duty assignments are required by the position and are scheduled throughout the year. Security Clearance Required: You will be required to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Background Investigation if you are selected and hired for this position. Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying. Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-08, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1. Conduct technical reviews and analysis of various operation submittal and/or completion reports; AND 2. Compile technical data for further analysis by engineers; AND 3. Executing database queries to provide a variety of reports and statistics. Must meet all.
