These positions are located in the Visitor Experience and Education Division at Acadia National Park, located in beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine. Positions are expected to onboard in mid-April and off-board in late October.

Duties
Two Visual Information Specialists will work closely together within the Visitor Experience and Education division to plan and produce high quality interpretive content for the park website and social media feeds. One position's primary duties will be day-to-day management and maintenance of the interpretive content on the park website and social media feeds including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The other position will focus on audio/visual production and live digital programming. Both positions will collaboratively support park priorities alongside a dynamic seasonal interpretive staff. With the interpretive supervisor, the Visual Information Specialists will liaison with the division's Interpretive Media Specialist, public information officer, and other divisions and partners.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment.

Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

Have documented record of work experience that meets the definition requirement for the Individual Occupational / Basic Qualifications Requirement for the for the Visual Information, GS-1084 Series, which requires experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other artwork, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.
AND
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: 1) experience directing, filming, editing, and producing videos for a public audiences that convey intended messages; 2) experience using Content Management System to create, add, or update content based on instructions and/or policies; 3) developing and producing visual products for print and/or web pages using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere); 4) distributing information concerning planning, coordinating, publicizing, and managing special events; 5) participate as a team member on all visual media projects and events.

Successful completion of one full academic year of graduate education with major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

I have successfully completed a four-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree and this undergraduate work has satisfied one of the provisions under superior academic achievement (SAA).This academic work must have been completed in a major field of study, such as commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photograph, visual communications, or other fields related to the position. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

Successful completion of a COMBINATION of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a graduate degree, in excess of 18 semester hours, and divide by 18 semester hours (or equivalent). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
