THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS), UNITED STATES COAST GUARD (USCG), DEPUTY COMMANDANT FOR MISSION SUPPORT, ASSISTANT COMMANDANT FOR ACQUISITION (CG-9), DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITION PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICE (CG-93), PANAMA CITY, FL.

Duties

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist and be the subject matter expert in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), logistics sustainment, and federal acquisition policies and procedures related to acquisition logistics functions.  You will develop, plan, and implement ILS and logistics sustainment infrastructure for CG-9 projects; provide direction for logistics support advancement; develop and implement logistics policy and procedures; and evaluate system ILS integration with other project and systems engineering activities.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-12: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.  Examples of specialized experience include: drafting logistics related procedures and guidance documents, developing resource requirements to support acquisition projects; assisting in the management of cost, schedule and performance for the delivery of integrated logistics support products, tracking and managing logistics contract deliverable items; and identifying gaps in logistics support for new or modified asset systems. To qualify for the GS-13: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: drafting logistics related procedures and guidance documents; developing resource requirements to support acquisition projects; assists in the management of cost, schedule and performance for the delivery of integrated logistics support products; tracks and manages logistics contract deliverable items; and identifies gaps in logistics support for new or modified asset systems. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
