About the Position: Serves as a Training Specialist with the Army Joint Support Team (AJST), Mission Command Center of Excellence (MCCoE), Hurlburt Field, Florida.
Duties
As a Training Specialist, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Function as an instructor in a seminar, classroom, laboratory, or similar environment to ensure that participants/students achieve learning objectives.
Synchronize and coordinate programs and activities necessary to accomplish the AJST education and training mission focused on joint fires systems and processes.
Utilize expert knowledge of joint air-ground operations, the joint and Service command and control (C2) processes involved, the associated joint and Service C2 systems, and the communications systems/networks over which the C2 systems operate.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 15% of the time.
- The incumbent must complete the Air Combat Command (ACC) Academic Instructor Course(AIC).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) designing and delivering military education and training support products for joint fire support aspects of joint air-ground operations and other command and control (C2) processes; 2) operating as a fire support expert utilizing the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) and other joint C2 systems; and 3) experience with staff activities such as operations process, joint air tasking cycle, or joint targeting cycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Must be able to obtain and maintain the following certificate:
Air Combat Command (ACC) Academic Instructor Course (AIC):The position requires the Air Combat Command (ACC) Academic Instructor Course (AIC) and certification requirements within six (6) months of employment. Certification as an Air Combat Command Instructor includes graduation from the course for which instruction is developed or provided, passing the faculty board assessment, and completion of 180 hours of practicum through mentoring, subject matter testing, lesson preparation, test administration, and classroom and/or laboratory instruction.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
