This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, FORCECOM Assessments (FC-A), FORCECOM Assessments, Compliance Branch (FC-Ac), Mission Management System (MMS) Team (FC-Acmms) in Washington DC.
Duties
This in position is assigned to the Force Readiness Command (FORCECOM), a mission support command responsible for the current and future readiness posture under the Deputy Command for Mission Support. The incumbent serves as the senior management systems specialist for Mission Management System (MMS) and is responsible for marine safety program process analysis, measurement, audits, and improvements, and tracking outputs and outcomes.

- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14, applicants must possess at least one full year of experience equivalent to the GS-13 level if in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience includes developing, implementing and/or auditing quality standards systems; monitoring field activities to ensure the uniform application of regulations and laws; leveraging maritime industry knowledge to interpret and apply maritime laws, regulations and standards to determine compliance; consulting with prevention field personnel to assist in adherence to quality management standards; understanding the operations of a vessel safety program.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
