Duties

You will advise workers on techniques for preparing sandblasting bays, chambers, portable units, booths, or open areas. You will comply with directives, safety regulations, and other rules and regulations within a sandblasting work area. You will inspect sandblasting products and workmanship for conformance to work order requirements. You will mix and apply conversion coating, pickling chemicals, and other protective coatings for sandblasting assignments. You will have knowledge and ability to apply procedures, requirements, regulations and policies related to the specialized expertise of the work of the unit.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
  • You will be required to be certified in the use of a respirator and/or air-fed hood.
  • You will be required to maintain current certification as a Certified Product Inspector.
  • Must possess a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You are required to maintain a Technician Certification .
  • This position may require overtime.
