Duties

Works as a Lead Accounting Technician, performing the duties of an Accounting Technician. Leads a team of Accounting Technician personnel in maintaining assigned subsidiary ledgers for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, customer deposits, unearned income, annual leave payable, equipment, prepaid items, and central storeroom accounts. Distribute and manages workload among Accounting Technician employees in accordance with established workflow and determines when adjustments are necessary. Resolve simple, informal complaints of employees and refer others to supervisor. Identifies areas warranting guidance, training, or improvement. Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work, work accomplishments, and communicates to supervisor.

Qualifications

1. One (1) year of work experience demonstrating proficiency in the application of a wide variety of accounting operations and processing procedures. 2. Must possess experience demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of accounting regulations, standard account codes, and terminology. 3. Must have experience performing various computation actions required to resolve transactions, discrepancies, complaints, etc 4. Must have experience using automated accounting systems to perform routine and analytical functions. The above experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. HIGHLY PREFERRED candidates will possess the above AND: 1. Possess leadership experience gained through providing training to others, or through leading teams or special projects. AND 2. Possess a 2-year accounting degree OR 2-years experience in bookkeeping or accounting. The experience/education/certification must be reflected on your resume and your degree/transcript/certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate.
