This HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO) of the Army National Guard and is part of the CA JFHQ J1 HRO.

Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY PROMOTION NOT TO EXCEED ONE YEAR. Selectee may be non-competitively promoted permanently if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 5 years if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-7, is to serve as the final reviewer and procedural authority of personnel actions submitted to the MILPO by lower echelons. Work is to be performed in one or more of the following work areas: Personnel Systems Management, Officer or Enlisted Personnel Management (OPM, EPM), Retirement Points Accounting Management (RPAM), Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP), Montgomery G.I. Bill, Physical Disability Evaluation System (PDES), Incapacitation Pay (INCAP), Mobilization (MOB)/Demobilization (DEMOB), TRICARE, Military Medical Support Office (MMSO), Line of Duty (LOD) investigations, and Funeral Honors/Casualty Assistance.

Qualifications

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-7: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-06 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Accessions, discharges/separations, promotions, awards, reductions, transfers, boards, Non-Commissioned Officer Evaluation Reports (NCOERs), Office Evaluation Reports (OERs), promotion eligibility, Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP), discharges, waivers, award/withdraw, Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), retirement eligibility.
