You will serve as a SOCIAL COUNSELOR (PREVENTION & EDUCATION) in the FAMILY ADVOCACY PROGRAM of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will research, prepare, and present seminars/workshops on topics such as family advocacy, child/spouse abuse prevention, and other topics needed by active duty military members, dependents, or commands.
You will coordinate the annual Domestic Violence Prevention Month.
You will conduct program evaluations in conjunction with the Program Director and Clinical Supervisors.
You will serve as primary coordinator for conducting training requirements for the Community Counseling Center.
You will prepare a monthly calendar with planned programs listed and brief description of programs.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing education and awareness training for prevention programs related to child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualification requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual.
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS:
- Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position OR
- Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR
- Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
GS 9
- I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or
- I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or
