About the Position: This position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Duties

Perform a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, soups and salads. Prepare items such as various forms of hot cereal, sauces, gravies and soups from packaged mixes; broils meats; makes cold sandwich fillings. Use a variety of cooking utensils to measure, weigh, and process food items. Maintain accurate food inventories and rotates stock items to prevent spoilage.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4. Hepatitis B immunization is required.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position requires the employee to wear a uniform, scrubs, or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty.
