Duties
Loads and unloads trucks; moves, packs, unpacks, sorts, segregates, arranges, stacks, piles, or relocates a large variety of supply items.
Works at dam site to maintain and provide janitorial services at recreational and operations facilities. Duties
include housekeeping tasks like sweeping, carpet cleaning, dusting, waxing, polishing, mopping floors,
scrubbing, window washing.
Performs multiple unskilled labor tasks to include painting, trash pick-up, cold-patching, mowing,
landscaping, digging ditches, filling, and leveling holes, placing concrete.
Participates in the culture of safety for all aspects of assigned duties in the workplace.
Works well in a team format to support the efforts of the other maintenance workers, rangers, and volunteer park staff by preparing tools, materials, equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license or be able to obtain and maintain a valid license for employment.
- Works inside and outside for long periods under varying conditions.
- Incumbent will be required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination required.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to do the work of a Laborer, WG-3502-03 without more than normal supervision 1) Performing routine and non-routine maintenance and repair tasks; 2) Performing duties using hand or power tools to include power mowers, weed trimmers, and drills to perform various tasks; and 3) Performing miscellaneous laboring assignments such as cleaning, scraping, and chipping paint.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: The laborer exerts heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as lifting and moving heavy objects weighing over 50 pounds, running power mowers on grades, and pushing heavy loads on a wheelbarrow.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The incumbent works usually outside and is subjected to all kinds of weather. Incumbent may be required to work on or near the water where immersion is possible. Incumbent works around and with moving equipment and is subject to noise and some fumes. The equipment, tools, and tasks involved at this level frequently require special care to avoid serious injuries.
Education
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
