Duties

You will provide environmental planning support through preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents such as Categorical Exclusions (CATEX). You will provide technical review of environmental planning documentation such as Environmental Assessments (EAs) or Environmental Impact Statements (EISs). You will provide environmental support of installation construction projects through review of environmental plans and documentations. You will provide environmental planning support by coordinating/addressing Natural and Cultural Resource considerations for on base projects. You will provide compliance support for air, water, and hazardous waste programs.

Requirements

Qualifications

For the GS-11: Your resume must show at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Assists in preparing and reviewing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents such as Categorical Exclusions (CATEX); Environmental Assessments (EAs); and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs); 2) Applies knowledge and understanding of one or more environmental compliance related fields such Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Historic Preservation Act; 3) Assists in providing environmental compliance support for various environmental media such as air, water, and hazardous waste; and 4) Participates in discussions with stakeholders to resolve environmental compliance concerns. For the GS-12: Your resume must show at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Prepares and reviews National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents such as Categorical Exclusions (CATEX); Environmental Assessments (EAs); and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs); 2) Applies knowledge and understanding of environmental compliance related fields such Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Historic Preservation Act; 3) Provides environmental compliance support for various environmental media such as air, water, and hazardous waste; and 4) Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve environmental compliance concerns. Applicants must possess:

  1. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

    or

  2. Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
