You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, NATEC Technical Expert Advisor to the senior leaders in the Logistics & Industrial Ops Group, Design Interface & Maintenance Planning Department, Integrated Warfighter Support Division, Aircraft Support branch of NV AIR TECHNICAL DATA AND ENGRG SVC.
Duties
You will serve as NATEC Technical expert advisor to senior leaders and maintenance technicians in the maintenance, operation, and training related to complex and sophisticated systems and equipment.
You will present oral reports, briefings, and recommendations to senior leaders concerning training requirements and recommendations.
You will conduct formal and informal training, prepare lesson plans, design training aids, and conduct classes.
You will analyze and resolve electrical problems by maintaining knowledge and making recommendations for corrective actions.
You will provide technical assistance reviewing operation, maintenance and installation procedures recommending new procedures for weapon systems, their support equipment and associated logistics issues.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
Qualifications
For GS-1670-11, EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (AVIONICS)
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Furnishing technical guidance to fleet commands, operating activities, Naval Air Systems Command, etc., as required in support of assigned equipment/systems. 2. Advising technicians, as requested, on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis, and resolving equipment problems with long term NAVAIR wide implications. 3.Providing both formal and on-the-job training for personnel engaged in the operation, maintenance, and/or installation of equipment. 4. Providing technical assistance by reviewing operation, maintenance, and installation procedures and other technical data applicable to area of responsibility. 5. Performing special project assignments related to assigned specialized information on new systems and equipment.
For GS-1670-09, EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (AVIONICS)
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Advising technicians, as requested, on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing system malfunctions, researching and resolving equipment problems with long term NAVAIR wide implications. 3. Performing informal training for personnel engaged in the operation, maintenance, and/or installation of equipment. 4. Providing technical assistance by reviewing operation, maintenance, and installation procedures and other technical data applicable to area of responsibility. 5. Assisting with special project assignments related to assigned specialized information on new systems and equipment.

Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
or
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
or
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
