The CDC utilizes Direct Hire Authority to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. This public notice covers positions managing, supervising, leading, and/or performing professional medical work. This public notice will be used to fill Medical Occupation positions listed below at the following grade levels.
Pharmacist, GS-0660: Grades GS-11 through GS-15
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors.
GS-11: 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
GS-12: In addition to the GS-11 requirements, must have at least 1 year of professional pharmacy experience: Qualifications must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, & competencies necessary to perform the work of the position. Pharmacy work requires knowledge of the use, clinical effects, & composition of medications, including their chemical, biological, & physical properties.
GS-13 & ABOVE:
EDUCATION: Doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
LICENSURE: Licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory
EXPERIENCE: 1 year of professional pharmacy experience as defined above equivalent to the next lower grade level
Education
A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
