The CDC utilizes Direct Hire Authority to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. This public notice will be used to fill IT Management - Information Security positions listed below at the following grade levels.
Information Technology Specialist (Information Security), GS-2210: Grades GS-09 through GS-15
Qualifications
Definition of Specialized Experience: Applicants must possess the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
Minimum Qualifications:
GS-09:
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks;
OR
Two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
One (1) year of specialized experience which includes experience at the GS-07 grade level, or equivalent, in an occupation listed or a closely related occupation performing similar duties.
GS-11:
Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree);
OR
Three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related;
OR
One (1) year of specialized experience which includes experience at the GS-09 grade level, or equivalent, in an occupation listed or a closely related occupation performing similar duties.
GS-12 & Above:
One (1) year of specialized experience which includes experience at the next lower grade level, or equivalent, in an occupation listed or a closely related occupation performing similar duties.
Education
A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
